Having established leadership position in its home market, India, OYO is now looking to aggressively expand to Southeast Asian markets, starting with Malaysia. We are looking to hire passionate individuals who can take high degree of ownership and deliver results.

Southeast Asian markets and Malaysia is extremely critical for the company:

  • Malaysia is the first country that OYO launched outside of India demonstrating its strong commitment for that country. OYO office in Malaysia is located in Mont Kiara (Kuala Lumpur) and has a team of 15 people presently, which will be scaled up to a 50 member local team very soon
  • Currently, OYO is operating 150+ hotels in Malaysia across Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Johor and Malacca. 20 hotels are on exclusive partnership basis with OYO and another 50 will get signed in the next 2–3 months
  • The demand at present is about 500 rooms per day and OYO plans to increase that to 5,000 rooms by the end of 2018


  • Plan & oversee business development efforts for OYO Malaysia in assigned areas / clusters with a goal to on-board high-quality budget hotels on to OYO network
  • Identify new hotels that meet OYO standards in terms of location, pricing, infrastructure quality, owner willingness etc. and pitch OYO’s partnership proposal
  • Negotiate OYO’s commercial agreement with interested hotels and sign-up rooms
  • Strengthen relationship with existing hotel owners & other relevant stakeholders
  • Collaborate with other teams in OYO such as operations, marketing, pricing, customer support, finance etc. to ensure smooth functioning of hotels on day-to-day basis


  • 3-6 years of high quality experience in sales / business development, operations or partnerships
  • High degree of ownership, roll-up-your-sleeve attitude & willingness to get task completed
  • Comfortable working in cross-functional setups requiring the candidate to collaborate with multiple teams locally as well as globally
  • Local market knowledge of Malaysia is a must
  • Experience in early-stage startup environments preferred
